The Department of Asian Languages and Literature at The University of Iowa has an opening for a one year full-time visiting Lecturer position in Chinese language for the academic year of 2004-2005 to begin in August 2004. Salary is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include: teaching second-, fourth- and fifth-year modern Chinese and supervising graduate Teaching Assistants. Requirements: native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English; Ph.D. (preferred) or M.A. in Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, Literature, or related fields; and experience in teaching Chinese at the college/university level.  Send letter of application with CV and three letters of recommendation to Chinese Language Search Committee,  Department of Asian Languages and Literature, 681 Phillips Hall, University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa 52242.
